Camping with the Air Cadets

So this weekend I spent camping with the Air Cadets for their Fall Survival exercise. Camping in the middle of October? I know........it sounds a little crazy. It was kinda cold, but not deathly cold. We will save that for the winter exercise. The Cadets spend their time learning to:
make their half shelters (which turned out amazingly)

made camp crafts (joanna and I made a bench which we didn't get to sit on that much.....due to its popularity).

Played a Radio puzzle game, played pretator and prey, did some attitude checks ( brown squirrel is still my favourite)

And ate the ever popular IMPs. What are these: Individual meal packets. Basically its military rations. I know it sounds really gross but they are actually really good. LIKE really really good. Yum......you wouldn't think spagetti and meatballs would taste good out of a air tight tin bag that requires not refigeration and has an expiry date of over 2 years. But you would be wrong all the meals that I had were delicious.
Here are some other pictures taken:

This is probably the meanest thing ever: I took the photo up close in the dark: Can you say blind spots (heheheh!).

In all: I had a great time.
