Lost Season 3 Episode 3

We are back to the beach.

Locke wakes up in the forest and sees Desmon running off somewhere. He also finds Echo's prayer stick.

In a frenzy he heads off with parts of his shelter from the beach to the church structure that Echo had been previously building. When he is asked what he is doing.....he tries to speak but is mute......through some strange actions he informs Charlie that he must talk to the island.

Locke takes Charlie off to this sweat lodge and asks him to guard the entrance.

Flashback: Locke picks up a hitchhiker.......its raining really hard. The rain breaks and a cop pulls them over.....they step out of the vehicle. Lockes back of his pick-up is full of guns. They are all registered.

Reality: Locke is making a sweat lodge out of the church. He eats some weird substance..........he starts having flashbacks about the crash day. He goes into this strange dream sequence with boone (remember him from season 1, He died in the beechcraft plane) where he can no longer walk and is informed he must clean up his own mess before he can help anyone else.
In the flashback: Hurley is a flight attendant and Ben/Henry Gale is a security officer (strange). He wakes up and speaks: Im going to go save Echo's life.

Charlie and Locke go out into the bushes on a hunt for Echo. Locke Recommends that Charlie leave and go back to Claire for "bad things" happen to people that hang out with him too long.

Flashback: Locke arrives at a commune. He brings the hitch hiker guy (Eddy) with him.

Reality: Charlie decides to go with Locke anyway. They come to where the hatch was to find it impoloded. They turn the corner to find and active kill and are chased by a polar bear. John throws a knife at it........but he actually hurled the knife at Hurley........but it hits Hurleys canteen......lucky break.
Now Hurley has joined the hunt until he finds out they are hunting for a polar bear.
Locke keeps coming across tufts of white hair. Charlie enforms everyone "Polar Bears are like the Einstein's of the Bear Community".

Flashback: Eddy and Locke go out on orchard duty. Eddy is suspicious of the operation - He questions the fertilizer and the greenhouse.
Eddy wants in on what they are trying to blow up......Locke just laughs and says he will talk to "mike and Jan about giving him information.

Present: Locke wants to go into a bear cave thing. Charlie refuses to leave. Locke goes into the cave like thing............
Hurley finds Desmon......he is naked
Locke is in the cave he finds a dump truck toy for a child.

Flashback: Mike and Jan are packing up.......they've figured out Locke picked up an informant from the police fresh out of the academy who will report them on how much weed they have been growing.

Locke goes into the cave and finds Echo still alive. The polar bear trys to get him but Locke saves his life. Echo is in ruff shape. They try to get him back to camp.

Hurley discusses the magic key with Desmon. Desmon mentions some type of speech Locke made just before the Hatch imploded.

Locke talks about what he saw in the sweat lodge with Charlie as they drag Echo back to camp

Flashback: Locke takes Eddy hunting - Locke points the gun at him and asks Eddy if "they knew it would be him in the truck. Eddy admits yes- because in phsyc profiling he hadn't been at the ranch long and would conseed because he is a farmer. Locke says NO! he is a hunter! - Locke and Eddy discuss what is "personal or not" - Eddy says "your not a murderer your a good man" (same as Colleen in the last episode) . Eddy walks away and Locke cannot shoot him.

Present: The three stop in the forest and Locke admits to Echo that he was wrong and it was his fault the three are with the others: Echo replies "they can still be protected and saved". Echo says they will find them. "For John is a Hunter".

They get back to the beach. Hurley gets to the beach and tells everyone Jack and Kate and Sawyer have been taken. Locke informs everyone that he will save them. Hurley is hit with deja vu because this is what Desmon was talking about earlier.......strange.........

And that is all for the episode.......
This was a wierd one. There is something special about that Desmon guy but I haven't quite figured out yet. My new theory is still strong as ever......esp. with that Polar Bears comment for earlier in the episode.
