So.........I just discovered over the last couple of week's that it is in fact Avril Lavigne that has come out with this new "hit", Girlfriend. To be completely honest; the first time I heard this "song" I truthfully thought it was some new crap girl band from the wonderful world of making the band 10. But no...........it is the young "talent"..........Avril. Care to wonder why I put the words "hit", "talent" and "song" in quotation marks? Let's take a brief look at the music.
The song itself.............a 5 note wonder of complete and utter trash. My grade 6 beginning Jazz band could make an improvized solo that is more complex than the entire song.
The lyrics........don't even get me started...........at least I will give her this much........I'm pretty sure she wrote the whole thing herself. Now.............I know many people have doubted her songwriting skills in the past, but for this album......I assure you.........it's her's..........all her's.
The only thing that truly surprised me about this song was that Timbaland wasn't the producer of this song.............if he can do it for Nelly Furtado................
Seriously kids..........................I know the song is catchy..............................it's got the nicotine beat.............................but save your ears, they can force feed this stuff at you but until you stop listening it will keep comin at cha..............just like a bad tabloid in summer predicting the end.

Amen. That song, particularly, the "she's like so whatever" part, has infected my mind for three weeks now.
Avril just tied with emo on The Unacceptable Musical Attempts List.
Actually, she had help writing the lyrics from the same person that helps Britney Spears write her lyrics. Explains a lot, hmm?
