One of the best days Ever!

So officially yesterday was one of the best days Ever (in recent memory).

The day started around 9am. I picked up 2 of my former students (Megan and Rachael) for a "tourist in your own area so to speak" Day.
The ultimate plan was to see the glass house and then take it from there.
We arrrive at said glasshouse and see a trove of older people loitering at the entrance gate. None of them actually go in the glasshouse as they have deemed it "too expensive". Megan and Rachael get in for the low price of $6 as they are teens. Unfortunatly twenty-teen-seven is not a real number, so I have to pay the adult price of $8.
As we are about to get our "tour" a passing motorist yells "THE GLASS HOUSE TOTALLY SUCKS" out his SUV window. This made Megan's Day!
Our tour was as follows: The Glasshouse was built by this man...................all the glass bottles are embalming bottles, as he was a retired funeral director? Too bad he didn't wash them all out. he spent a year building the outside and a year building the inside and the next 20 years building the rest.
Megan: Can we take pictures
Tourguide: Sure, Im not a camera-Nazi
Tourguide: This is the kitchen, out there is a museum-shed thing that explains the history.
Megan, Rachael and I proceed to the museum shed......................
Rachael: Where'd our tour guide go?

That's right our "tourguide" left us...................

But we still had fun. We saw cows and Snow White and her new and improved dwarves.

Then we tried to find Janet (Nickolai's Mom) at their cabin place. We followed the directions to a T, but to no avail. No Janet. We decide to try again at the end of the journey.

We visit all the touristy/artsy things in crawford bay and enjoy the most delicious bread ever. Yum..............chocolate wrapped in bread..............

I bought some earings at the art gallery and we looked at the imfamous "brooms".

We miss the ferry because there are too many cars. So we hung out and drink soft ciders at lakside.
I still don't understand why Megan and Rachael didn't melt. They were both wearing jeans and it was HOT!

We learned how to use the "Swivel Hot Bonus" in the Car and finally got on a ferry (but it was the craptastic old ferry that only drives in one direction).
Rachael yelled out "Too Thin, Too Thin" and all sanity was lost.

We reached the other side (Nelson) and I had a moment with the "non-marked police car". I know........a ghost car......I'll blog about that all on its own.........tomorrow...........(in the undeterminded part series......Some information that might help you in the future......)

We bought some more jewlery and ate at the sushi place (Rachael got chicken strips). Rachael also discovered that she likes Tempura......A Japanese food! Yay Rachael!

We came back the ferry way......I got to feed the ducks for the first time.......
We got the craptastic old ferry again, but this time were smart enough to figure out that we should stand at the front of the ferry to maximize the wind potential.
It was Rachael's best moment of the day.
Megan got a little too exited about rainbows.
Rachael became the worlds first "Peer Pressured Reciprocal Waver Poser".
We were all too loud as usual.

We finally found Janet and also realized that the lady that waved at us the first time really could have helped. We were loud, we laughed till we cried and we learned that Nickolai's grampa is the Coolest one in the family. We hung out with Janet and had a blast. Nickolai wasn't even there until the end of the evening. "It's okay, He'll Repress it".
We learned about Magnets, we heard several embrassing storys, we embarassed ourselves and again were too loud.
The day ended with a drive involving bats, cats and scary stories (If I didn't know any better I'da thought it was Halloween again).

It was a great day!!!

New words from Saturday:

Fauxnado: A Creston tornado.

Soupami: A tidal wave of soup cans.

Twenteen: Twelve didn't count, so why can't 20 take its place?

Swivel hot bonus: The jeep doesn't really have air-conditioning, but we like to pretend.

Reciprocal waver: He who returns the greeting from one ferry to the next.

Peer presssured reciprocal waver poser: Rachael.

I hope these definitions are of help. =D
